2014 Oscar nominees gather for Annual Academy Awards luncheon
Oscar nominees gathered together on Monday for the 34th Annual Academy Awards Luncheon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, in Beverly Hills, California. Along with the Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris, 16 of the 20 nominated actors and a total of more than 150 nominees from all the categories were present for the festive meal. The Oscar nominees gathered together to have lunch, enjoy their success and the rare honor to be an Oscar nominee. After lunch the nominees posed for photographs including the yearly class picture.
No matter who wins the coveted gold statues later this month, the luncheon is a low-key way for all the nominated participants to celebrate their accomplishment and for many to meet key people in the industry that may not have been available to them in the past. During the luncheon, the actors and directors met with a small group of press for interviews.
Actors present at the luncheon were Steve Carell from "Foxcatcher," Bradley Cooper from "American Sniper," Marion Cotillard from "Two Days, One Night," Felicity Jones from "The Theory of Everything, Michael Keaton from "Birdman," Julianne Moore from "Still Alice," Rosamund Pike from "Gone Girl," Eddie Redmayne from "The Theory of Everything," Reese Witherspoon from "Wild," Patricia Arquette from "Boyhood," Laura Dern from "Wild," Robert Duvall from "The Judge," Ethan Hawke from "Boyhood," Edward Norton from "Birdman," J.K. Simmons from "Whiplash" and Emma Stone from "Birdman." Three of the five nominees in the Directing category – Richard Linklater, Morten Tyldum and Bennett Miller were also in attendance.
The 87th Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be televised live on the ABC Television Network. The Oscars, produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
